The Ohio Statewide Assessments Pre-Identification File report can help districts determine current testing requirements and accommodations for upcoming tests and assessments. It can also be used to view accommodations as of a given date (by using the Effective Date filter). This report can be found by going to Reports > State Reporting.
Data from this report may be sent to your SIS via integration, or downloaded from SameGoal and submitted to TIDE. In this case, it is recommended that Effective Date is set to the date the report is being run (i.e. today's date or date of API call), which should be the default.
This report returns data for students with an IEP, Section 504 Plan, or English Learners documentation. If a student has both an IEP and a Section 504 Plan active during the same time period, the report will only return one row for the student and will pull from whichever is the most recent.
If a student only has English Learners documentation, they will be included in the report in order to have accurate counts. However, these rows will be mostly blank, as statewide accommodation information is not tracked in English Learners documentation.
ODE uses a specific format for Pre-Identification files. The report in SameGoal was designed to match this format so the data can be sent directly to TIDE without needing to be reformatted.
Because of this, the report contains several Filler columns. These columns have no bearing on the data that's being output; they are included solely for the benefit of those who are running the report in order submit the results to TIDE.
- EL: This column indicates whether a student is an English Learner.
- If the student has an IEP, the result in this column is based on the answer to the Does the child have limited English proficiency question in the IEP.
- If the student has a Section 504 Plan, this field will be Y if the student has EL documentation in SameGoal, and will be left blank if the student does not have EL documentation, since the 504 Plan does not ask about English proficiency.
- If the student is an EL only student, this field will be Y.
- 504: This column indicates whether the student has a Section 504 Plan.
- If data for the given student is being pulled from their 504 Plan, the field will be Y.
- If data for the given student is being pulled from an IEP, this field will be set to N, even if the student does have a 504 Plan.
- IEP: This column indicates whether the student has an IEP.
- If data for the given student is being pulled from their IEP, the field will be Y.
- If data for the given student is being pulled from their 504 plan, this field will be set to N, even if the student does have an IEP.
- Primary Disability: This column returns a student's primary disability.
- If the student has an IEP, the primary disability is taken from the most recent ETR.
- If the student has a Section 504 Plan, this field will be left blank.
- Accommodations: These columns indicate whether a student needs accommodations in the given area.
- If the student has an IEP, the results of this column are based on the Statewide Testing table in the IEP.
- If the student has a Section 504 Plan, the results of this column are based on the Statewide and Districtwide Testing table in the 504 Plan.
- AASCD: This column indicates whether a student needs alternate testing. (Alternate Assessment for Students with the Most Significant Cognitive Disabilities)
- If the student has an IEP, the result in this column is based on the answer to the Is the child participating in the AASCD question in the IEP.
- If the student has a Section 504 Plan, this field will be N because only special education students qualify.
- Test Mode: These columns indicate whether a student needs alternate testing in the given area.
- If the AASCD field is Y for a student, a Y will be returned in the Test Mode columns.
- If the AASCD field is N for a student, a N will be returned in the Test Mode columns.
