Behavior Intervention Plan

While there is little legal stipulation as to what content needs to appear in a BIP, TEA provides technical assistance document Behavior Supports and Guidance for Students with Disabilities. Page 31 summarizes main BIP components expected as:

• Description of interfering behavior
• Function(s) of behavior
• Replacement behaviors
• Antecedent/prevention strategies
• Instructional strategies
• Responses to behavior
• Reinforcement

SameGoal's BIP includes all components above and was also designed with the example shared by the TX Deaf Blind Project in mind (note: pre-dates most recent TEA guidance).
