Focus Demographics Integration

This integration imports student and parent demographics data from Focus into SameGoal on a nightly basis. Demographics information appears on each student's "Details" tab in SameGoal, and auto-copies into documents as they are created for each student.

To setup demographics integration with Focus:

In Focus link

• As an administrator in the Focus portal, visit Setup > System Setup > Third Party Systems.
• Create a new record:
  • Title: SameGoal
  • Dialect: OneRoster 1.2
• Provide read access to the following items:
  • Address
  • Assignment
  • Assignment Category
  • Contact
  • Contact Detail
  • Course
  • Demographic
  • Enrollment
  • Grade
  • Marking Period
  • Organization
  • School
  • Section
  • Student
  • Student Grade
  • Token
  • User

Copy/paste the API URL, Client ID and Client Secret for entry into SameGoal.

In SameGoal link

• Login to SameGoal as an administrative user.
• Visit Settings (left menu) > District Information.
• Under STUDENT INFORMATION SYSTEM INTEGRATION, locate Focus.
• Click "add Nightly Demographics". Enter API Base URL, Client Key and Client Secret.

This integration runs nightly. Students should appear from Focus the following morning in your environment.
