Recently, guardian share was changed such that in order to manually enter a guardian email (rather than selecting an email from a dropdown), you have to select the option to Enter manually.
Adding this extra step encourages users to select an email address that has already been saved in SameGoal, thus reducing the risk of typos and improving security when sharing documents with parents/guardians.
In the coming weeks, even more guardian share changes will be made! The Add Collaborators page will be getting a makeover as we roll out the new permission requests feature, and along with this change, guardian share will be added to a new tab in the called Add Parent/Guardian.
In the Add Parent/Guardian tab, users will still be required to select the option to Enter Manually, and they will also receive a popup warning to review any free text email that was entered and confirm its accuracy before sending. Additionally, if users select a guardian email from the dropdown list, they will not have to provide the guardian’s name because it will be included automatically. This will further increase security as well as help to save users time!
