PLAAFP Impact Statement

The TEA created the External Desk Review Rubric to ensure ARDs are being done correctly. The IEP Development section of this rubric requires that the PLAAFP includes a description of the effect of the student’s disability on involvement and progress in the general education curriculum.

In order to help ensure compliance, in the IEP and Services Plan, next week we will be adding an additional Impact Statement that can be added at the top of Section 3 (Present Levels) in order to document this information.

Additionally, when this new section is added, districts may choose to make the section required.

1. While logged in as an administrative user, go to Settings > District Information.
2. Scroll down to Special Education Information.
3. Check the Enable box for “Require IEP impact statement”.
