An English proficient student may opt to participate in DLI services and enroll in the Dual Language program.
Steps
To enroll a student in Dual Language:- Create an LPAC Initial Review.
- Enter enrollment and assessment information in the Results tab.
- Under Identification Decision, select English Proficient (non-EB electing into language program).
- Under Placement Recommendation, select Enter/Continue Bilingual Education Program and one of the Dual language immersion options.
- Sign the document.
- Mark the document complete.
When the document is marked complete, the student will be enrolled in the 2L program and will have a deadline for an LPAC Annual Review.
A student can continue participating in Dual Language optionally after being reclassified. In order to do so, they must have been participating in Emergent Bilingual with DLI services and reclassify as English proficient.
Steps
To enroll a student in both Dual Language and Reclassification Monitoring:- LPAC Annual Review
- The decision must be Reclassify as English Proficient / Enter Monitoring.
- Next Year's placement should be set to Continue Dual Language Immersion Program as reclassified English Proficient student.
- Parental Notification on Student Progress - Bilingual
- The recommendation should be Exit Dual Language immersion (DLI)...
- Parental Notification of Reclassification and Approval of Exit - DLI
- Parent must approve of the reclassification.

Additionally, a student who is participating in Reclassification Monitoring can enter the Dual Language program at any point. To enroll a reclassified student in 2L, fill out an LPAC Initial Review.
